In­sur­ers are ma­jor in­sti­tu­tion­al in­vestors with a long-term in­vest­ment hori­zon and a pref­er­ence for safe­ty.

Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers are ma­jor tax­pay­ers and, as such, make a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to the coun­try's pulic sec­tor.

The study con­duct­ed by BAK Eco­nom­ics on the eco­nom­ic im­por­tance of the fi­nan­cial sec­tor shows that in­sur­ers will con­tin­ue to be one of the most pro­duc­tive sec­tors of the Swiss econ­o­my in 2022.

For Switzer­land as a busi­ness lo­ca­tion, rein­sur­ers are im­por­tant risk car­ri­ers, cap­i­tal providers and tax­pay­ers that make a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to ser­vice ex­ports.

The test checks the port­fo­lios of fi­nan­cial com­pa­nies for their cli­mate com­pat­i­bil­i­ty in a cur­rent po­si­tion as­sess­ment us­ing the PACTA method. The re­sults of the third edi­tion are now avail­able.

The need for safe­ty is a fun­da­men­tal hu­man need. The Swiss are a very safe­ty-mind­ed na­tion, spend­ing more mon­ey on in­sur­ance than any oth­er.
