In 2024, Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers’ pre­mi­um vol­ume once again ex­pe­ri­enced pleas­ing growth, ac­cord­ing to FINMA fig­ures.

The in­sur­ance mar­ket is high­ly com­pet­i­tive. 2024 saw rough­ly 195 pri­vate in­sur­ers com­pete for the favour of pol­i­cy­hold­ers across five in­sur­ance branch­es.

The sixth sus­tain­abil­i­ty re­port for the in­sur­ance in­dus­try pro­vides in­for­ma­tion on the mea­sures tak­en by the in­dus­try in the ar­eas of en­vi­ron­men­tal, eco­nom­ic and so­cial sus­tain­abil­i­ty.

The pur­pose of the CRI’s guid­ance is to lim­it the im­pact of ran­somware in­ci­dents.

The BAK study shows that pri­vate in­sur­ance was still one of the most pro­duc­tive and eco­nom­i­cal­ly im­por­tant sec­tors in Switzer­land in 2023.
