The Swiss Insurance Association SIA has appointed Ann-Karin Wicki to head its Health and Accident Insurance department. Furthermore, Ms. Wicki will join the SIA's Board of Directors. She will assume her new position on 01 September 2016. Currently, Ann-Karin Wicki heads the SIA's health insurance unit. The SIA's new Health and Accident Insurance department has been created to ensure an adequate representation of this insurance segment after several major health insurers had joined the association.
Zurich, 10 June 2016 – Ann-Karin Wicki has many years of experience in health and accident insurance. Since 2012 she has been serving as the SIA's point of contact for all SIA members from this insurance segment, their committees and commissions and the corresponding ad-hoc working groups. Moreover, Ms. Wicki has been accompanying political processes on the Federal council level, in parliamentary initiatives and nationwide votes. In this context, she has been working with the Swiss regulators, i.e. the Federal Office for Public Health and the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). Before joining the SIA, Ann-Karin Wicki founded and successfully managed her own healthcare management company. Prior to that she was a member of the Executive Board at Helsana Versicherungen AG where she managed a centre of competence for claims, daily sickness indemnity and accident insurance, having joined the company from the Federal Social Insruance Office’s department of international affairs.
Ann-Karin Wicki holds a university degree in history and a diploma in social insurance management (NDS FH).
