In 2023, Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers’ pre­mi­um vol­ume once again ex­pe­ri­enced pleas­ing growth, ac­cord­ing to pro­jec­tions by the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion SIA. 

Berkley Schweiz to join the SIA. We would like to wel­come the in­sur­ance com­pa­ny to the in­dus­try as­so­ci­a­tion for Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers.

The re­la­tion­ship be­tween cli­mate change and bio­di­ver­si­ty, why every com­pa­ny needs cli­mate-com­pat­i­ble strate­gies and how young em­ploy­ees can be used as a sound­ing board for sus­tain­abil­i­ty. 

The study con­duct­ed by BAK Eco­nom­ics on the eco­nom­ic im­por­tance of the fi­nan­cial sec­tor shows that in­sur­ers will con­tin­ue to be one of the most pro­duc­tive sec­tors of the Swiss econ­o­my in 2022.

The SIA rec­om­mends six AI prin­ci­ples for the in­sur­ance in­dus­try. San­dra Kur­mann, Head of Frame­work Con­di­tions at the SIA, takes a stand.

Fo­cus on fur­ther de­vel­op­ment of self-reg­u­la­tion and di­a­logue with the au­thor­i­ties 

At Build­ing Bridges, SVV part­nered with the Prin­ci­ples for Sus­tain­able In­sur­ance (PSI) to or­gan­ise a pan­el dis­cus­sion on sus­tain­abil­i­ty in un­der­writ­ing.

The del­e­gates of the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion SIA elect­ed Ste­fan Mäder, chair­man of the Board of Di­rec­tors of Mo­bil­iar, as their new chair­man at their An­nu­al Gen­er­al Meet­ing in Basel.

In its fourth year now, the pri­vate in­sur­ers’ sus­tain­abil­i­ty re­port has demon­strat­ed that sus­tain­abil­i­ty is tak­en in­to ac­count at all stages in the val­ue chain.
