New Chairman of the Association of Swiss Insurers
The Board of the Swiss Insurance Association (SIA) at its latest meeting decided to propose Dr. Hansjörg Frei, member of the «Winterthur» Board of Directors, to the 2000 General Meeting as its new Chairman. At that time, Prof. Riccardo Jagmetti, the incumbent Chairman, will be stepping down.
Zurich, 10.5.1999 – Hansjörg Frei is currently Vice-Chairman of the SIA and has, since 1991, headed the Swiss Division of «Winterthur». This early nomination of a successor to the current Chairman has been made with a view to the SIA’s centenary in 2000.
The SIA is the umbrella association of Swiss private insurance companies, defending the interests of the insurance companies in dealings with the authorities. It also handles such matters as training, information, public relations and public affairs in the general interest of its members.
